Simple things to check off your list and do 2017 right!

-DE-CLUTTER. This is the easiest way to lift stress! Throw those no good clutter items out (or donate them). Many people underestimate how much stress having too much stuff can bring. Go into your closet and anything you haven't worn in over a year, get rid of it. It's hard to let go, but once you do you will feel free and relaxed. And go ahead and take it past your closet, do the same in your cupboards and pantry (do you really need all those old plastic cups and mismatched spoons.) This will launch your 2017 into an organized worry free year!
-Do some decorating! Pick one room in your home or apartment that needs a little TLC, and redecorate it. Make it a simple fresh redecorate, whether it's just rearranging the furniture, or putting some new pillows and cute rug down. Once you freshen up a room you will feel successful, proud, stylish, and savy. And it may prompt you to invite a few friends over for a fun wine night and show off your cute design.
-Give yourself some love! We are all guilty of occasionally sleeping in our makeup, or jumping out of the shower and throwing on our jeans. But it's time to take an extra five minutes to show yourself some love. Just take those few minutes a day to wash your skin off, put on your moisturizer, lotion up your legs, and add a mask to your hair. Just going the extra few steps on taking care of yourself and taking care of your skin, can really work wonders on how you feel each day. And you deserve those extra few moments of self love. Once you feel that much better for the day, you will preform that much better for the day. Do this every day and before you know it 2017 will feel like the best year yet!
-Cook one new meal a week! Just one day a week, look up a new recipe you've never made, and try it out! Even if you're not the best cook, if you give it your all just one single night each and every week, then before you know it you'll broaden your horizons, and your cooking abilities. Trying new things can be so fun, and we are all guilty of just making what we know how to make. So giving something new and fun a try will make us all feel like little pro chefs with a background in ethnic culinary arts (even when we're totally not).
-Save a little! In this day and age, we are all guilty of seeing cool trends and styles via instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, or television. And it makes us want to shop to keep up! But if you keep yourself from making those random purchases as often, or even just spending $5.00 less a day. It's a simple step that can make your bank account more hefty for the year of 2017. And then maybe by the time summer rolls around, you will have enough dollars in your piggy bank to take a little vacation or do a great spa day. Spend the money on things that will better and improve yourself (instead of take phone cases and lip-liner trends).
-Write it down! If you take a moment each day, to take a deep breath, and write down your goals for the year, for the month, and for the day. Studies show that you are 67% more likely to achieve those goals than those who don't write them down! Plus taking a moment to write your thoughts and goals can be very theraputic, So whether it's "Don't get mad at my husband for anything today" "drink less soda this month" or "lose 20 pounds this year" you are FAR more likely to actually achieve those goals just by knowing them and putting them on paper. So take that moment to jot it down.
-Make a New friend! We know it's hard to step out of your day to day schedule, and you would rather scroll through your phone than spark up a conversation with the stranger sitting next to you. But making a new friend can be so good for the soul. Because if you don't have people and relationships, the what do you really have? So take that leap and spark a convo with someone in the elevator, the break room, or even the DMV. For all you know they could end up being your new buff by the end of 2017.
-Shake up your style! We all have a personal style, and our style helps define who we are. But we can all be guilty of getting a little stuck in the same cycle of outfits and hair style. So take a few days this month to try a totally new hairstyle or put together a new outfit with your existing clothes! Maybe try doing double braids, or wavy curls and big volume instead of your usual look. It can even be as simple as rolling up your favorite jeans to create a cute capri, pairing a few of your fav necklaces together, or putting on a bold nail polish color you wouldn't normally wear. Even take it to your makeup, maybe try a red lip, or a winged eyeliner. And you may end up finding a new look you love, while still staying true to yourself!
